Jane is a transplant to Los Angeles, coming from strong southern roots in South Carolina. After getting her BS in Marketing at Clemson University she found herself among the redwoods in northern California where she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member for the Humboldt County UC Davis Extension with the 4-H program. She then spent several years working in experiential and promotional marketing in Los Angeles and nationwide with brands like Samsung and Grey Goose. Currently, she is the Social Enterprise and Partnerships Manager for Food Forward, an LA based nonprofit that rescues fresh produce that would otherwise go to waste, connecting this abundance with people in need, and inspiring others to do the same. She joined the MSSE program to enhance her business skills and hone in on the specifics of working in social ventures with the hope grow the social enterprise at Food Forward, and be able to take her skills and knowledge beyond to tackle food waste and food insecurity. When she isn’t working she is traveling, enjoying live music, tasting the newest local fare, hiking, at the beach, or cooking up some southern soul food for friends.
